OUR POLICIES

VACCINATIONS

 Required Vaccinations:
Rabies Vaccine
Parvo/Distemper Vaccine
Bordetella Vaccine
Leptospirosis Vaccine
Parasite Treatment (Worms, fleas and ticks) .

Please send vaccination records before arrival. Please have your vet email records to littleriverfarmfloyd@gmail.com. We must have a copy for our files. We will not print screenshots. You are welcome to send a screenshot ahead of time and bring a paper copy with you.

Please look over vaccinations and treatments required and consult with your vet if any vaccinations are missing. If you are missing any vaccinations, once the vaccine is given it takes several weeks to be effective for most.

For rabies a 28 day wait is required before boarding. Not all veterinarians include the Bordetella (kennel cough) and Leptospirosis vaccine in routine vaccinations. Please double check that your pet has received these vaccinations before scheduling.

If you are scheduling more than two dogs, we will ask for a deposit. The deposit will be half of your scheduled stay and is non-refundable. Families will be paying for time scheduled, not time used.

All boarding during major holidays is to be paid when making reservations. Some holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas require a 5 day minimum stay.

CANCELLATION POLICY

A 30-day notice is appreciated and expected. There are times during the year, we are full and turning other families away many months in advance. We are a small kennel, and one kennel left empty impacts us greatly. If you are unable to give a 30-day notice, please make payment for the time you have scheduled.

Families that do not give proper notice and/or payment will be asked to pay in advance before making any future reservation. We will not hold your dates. Once payment is received for your requested dates, we will get it on the schedule at that time.

 OUR SCHEDULE

We feed around 7am and 5pm. After that, we don’t really have a set schedule. What we do really depends on the dogs that are here.

Some dogs play and then relax in the shade all day. Other dogs will play a little and then are at the gate asking to go back in. Some dogs potty then want to go back in right away.

We encourage everyone to spend time outside, but we never make any dog stay out a certain number of hours. They are all different. We get to know them and do what’s best for them so they are happy and comfortable.

 BUSINESS HOURS
Monday-Friday 8:30AM-10:30AM 2:30PM-4:00PM

Saturday 8:30AM-1030AM Only

Sunday No Arrivals and Departures

All arrivals and departures are by appointment only. No arrivals and departures on holiday

We Take Puppies

Come see us to socialize your puppy! Puppies must have received their final round of puppy shots, including rabies. Rabies can be given at 12 weeks. Once your puppy has received this vaccine, you must wait 28 days before boarding. Puppies 5 months and younger are at a rate of $50/night. There is a Special Care Fee for everyone under 12 months of age.

We Do Not Allow Flea Collars

Oral or topical treatment is acceptable. Many dogs play hard. If you choose to send your dog in a flea collar and it is broken or lost. It must be replaced so that your dog is protected. We will replace it and charge you the cost of the collar in addition to $75/hour from the time we leave our farm until we return. You are welcome to bring an extra. However, some dogs play hard and should play naked for safety.

AGGRESSIVE DOGS

We do not accept dogs that show aggression towards people. If we can not take the leash from you or approach your dog, we can't board your dog. We will consider a dog that has bitten someone, but we would like to have a conversation with you first. There are times a dog will bite and it's understandable and preventable.

DOGS THAT HAVE NOT SEEN THE WORLD

Dogs that have not been properly socialized with people and dogs outside of your family home are considered special care. This environment can be terrifying for a dog that hasn't seen the world beyond their home. They will be separated from the play groups. Any dog showing fear and/or anxiety will not be turned out in play groups and are considered special care.

We do not turn Pit Bull or Pit Bull mixes out with groups. They are kept separated in their own yard and kennel and are considered special care. Any dog that is not socialized with other dogs and shows any dog aggression is kept separated in their own yard and kennel and are considered special care.

WHAT TO BRING

You are not required to bring anything. We have everything needed to care for your dog while you are away. You are welcome to bring your dog’s bed/blanket. It will fit on top of our raised beds. They don’t always make it home clean, if you are willing to take that chance, many dogs enjoy having something familiar from home.

If your dog likes to chew, you can bring a bone. These don’t always make it back home. Food, supplements, and medications if needed. If your medications and supplements are not included on your dog boarding form, please provide us with the name of the medication/supplement, dosage, what it’s for and how you administer in writing.

WHAT NOT TO BRING

Don't bring toys.  We have found that most dogs do not play with toys while they are here. We do not allow toys in the yard during playtime to avoid altercations. Most dogs ignore toys in their kennels while they rest. If you do send toys, it may or may not make it back home. If they get dirty we gather them in a crate at the front gate for you to look through before you go home.

Don't bring bowls and measuring cups.   We have plenty! If you send them, they may get mixed with ours. We may not have time to sit with you to go through them all to pick out which ones are yours.
